Just Do It

It’s been a while since I have written one, but it just amazes me how time has swung by.

Almost the end of the year and one thing that echoes in my mind, when I rate myself against my goals for this year, is the question “how well did I perform?”

If you have lost track of time and/or your game plan, then chances are you may feel it's a little too late to get back in the game to become a winner for the year. My challenge to you is how we can prove that this thought itself is wrong.

We have about 10 weeks to go before the year ends, that's plenty of time before one can call quits. So whatever be your passion and desire, my challenge to you all is ‘What is that one extraordinary thing you could do to make each day count’.

One extra incremental win everyday, just 1% each day would result in 30% by the end of the month.
I would say that is a pretty big win by itself.

So I urge you to look into your goals, rethink and rebuild that applaud able desire to excel every single day.
You want to start a business, re-energize yourself and "Just Do It"
You want to run a marathon or have the best physique,"Just Do It"
You want to Ace in your Studies or finish your certification, "Just Do It"

In short, no matter how impractical your desire or your goal may feel,
Remember the sign of a genius level performance is to give your best performance under undesirable circumstances

And lastly one of my favorite quotes, "To have what the Very few Have, do what the Very Few do"

Who do you want to take your picture with?

This topic is a special dedication to my dear friend who enlightens me with his ideas.
Got another new learning in my life, which I would like to share with all of you.
I was disturbed by for the fact that I missed an opportunity to have my picture taken with a celebrity and my friend was not able to figure out why.
To my bewilderment, I asked him the same question and his answer astounded me

He told me about a couple, whose monthly income was only $1000. They alternated the days they would have a meal i.e. if husband eats his meal on Mondays, the wife would skip Mondays but instead eat on Tuesday and vice-verse. By doing so their monthly savings was around $400. The money thus saved was to be spent on helping someone in need!! “Wow” is what I said as soon I heard this…to this he said, he would want his picture to be taken with a couple like this!!
Another example, a beggar saving his money to help old-age home people who are helpless, dependent and have no source of income, he would want to take a picture with that person.

Sounds unrealistic, doesn’t? Do we really see many people who would cut corners to help someone who is a complete stranger and expect nothing in return? Give a thought to this, I am sure I will, and the next time when you have an opportunity, who would you want to take your picture with?

This is for you!!

Thank you, feel deeply humble for all the good wishes I had received today.
Feel truly blessed to have so many people wishing good!! Spirits are so pure.
It is during this time where testaments are challenged and true evaluations are done to see if you are truly loved and cared…and its all because of you …
Thank you…thank you to each and ever one of you…you made me part of your wishes…you remembered me and wished me the very best…Could’t have asked for more this birthday than this.
I made a special pray to lord today…to be kind on each and every soul on this earth and be blessed with so many friends and family as I have been.

This short poem is for you!!

I pray and I pray for all
To be blessed in my prayer to lord
To have friends and family so kind
To be part of me during ups and downs of my life

Oh blessed I feel
For all the friends I seek
For making my birthday so fine
To all my dear ones
I thank you all for once
To be part of my journey
Could not have been so great
Without your stake
Hence I dedicate this poem
Because you are my true triumph

It was all worth it!

It’s been a while I have written….
This one makes its special and something to cherish for the New Year to come.
Very recently I had my master’s commencement.
When I was sitting by the podium before my name was called, I could think of endless adjustments I had to make for this day to happen, number of parties and fun time I had to give up, sleepless days to balance work and studies and the list goes on.
But sitting there on that day made me realizes that it was all worth it.
It is not until you see the results of your perseverance that you realize the true taste of success.
Message today is very simple, whichever path you are pursuing, there may be several roadblocks, several failures, endless thoughts of giving it up …don’t quit. Very soon you will realize that “It was all worth it”

My new word for my daily use

“Spectacular” the sound of the word makes me feel happy.
How many times in a day does a person greet someone or receive one?
I think beyond my finger count for sure and with that how many opportunities do we miss making the other person feel astoundingly amazing!!

So try this out next time when a person greets you “How are you doing” say with enthuse “Spectacular” and observe that awe smile on his face…it works!!
Or choose a word to greet someone that is out of norm while looking into the person eyes with a warm smile
One of my to do list for the day is to make at least a person feel good and bring a smile on his face, now I am sure I could change from single to bunch :)

Dare to dream!!

When you dream about something and you know for sure that, it is what you want, then why is it so hard to make it happen?
Well I guess answer to this one is not that simple. The journey to destination is what makes the dream happen and not just merely dreaming about it.
Many a times I have planned and try to stick by my plan and as much hard I try to abide by it, it sometimes fails, which is okay if it is just for a day or so but not if it becomes a habit.
What helps to break this kind of habit is practicing few of the following suggestions
1) Even if it take for ever for that day don’t give up!! No matter what stick by with it
2) Persistence is a virtue, Some people say it take 30 days to make it a habit I would say 21 days. Three week is all it take to personalize your habit as long as you are patient
3) “Too many cooks spoil the broth” “Under promise over deliver” all these quotes speaks of the same thing. Plan to achieve fewer task then what you can. The energy attain accomplishing those small goals is awe-inspiring for bigger ones.

Most importantly know for sure that it is truly something you want, because patience and persistence would only work hand in hand if you connect your heart to your head.
Discipline is big word and often time misused. When you use such word for your daily deeds make some boundaries so that no matter what you will not go over it. Sounds all majestic and perfect for this moment. But I assure you, you will be living one if you dare to dream and stick by with it…. So start dreaming and churn them into reality.

Small step for a complete life renewal!!

Have you ever wondered how one could continuous self improve?
Wait a second; you may ask a question, why do I need to self improve?
Answer is simple, in today’s volatile world, being best is not always enough. People’s attitude change, their expectation change and with that if you were at your best in your own world you will be lost and easily forgotten.

Social networking is one the necessities today. World’s paradigm is changing ever second. One needs to abreast with all the changes and keep learning and get better ever-single day.

What would be one the simplest (may not be the easiest thing) solution one could adapt to for the changes around you? Well, setting goals ever morning and reflecting upon it ever evening would be one of the surest solutions. But what has worked even more wonderfully for me is having a new adaptation in my goal every single week and practicing it ever since. So imagine a jar where you would add a pebble every single week. By the end of the year it would probably be over flowing. Now reflect this thought on yourself. Every single week you push yourself to learn or adapt to a new regime. At the end of the month you would have four new elements you would have learned and by the end of the year, when you were to look back and you will be aghast as to how much you have grown and learned from it.

Adaptation and weekly learning’s could be as simple as “ I will make sure I will make at least one person smile” or “I will make sure I wake up every morning by 5:00” or “I am going to keep my self updated with financial news” or as aggressive as “ I will take care of myself by maintaining healthy diet”Which ever you choose, stick by it. Make sure you keep a journal as you make progress. Small step for a complete life renewal!!
